Job Description
PROJECT ENGINEER (COMMERCIAL GENERAL CONTRACTOR)
We are seeking a Project Engineer (PE) to help us keep up with existing project work, estimating and assisting project managers with overall project management. We are a lean, nimble group seeking a PE with 1+ year of experience who can step in to support all aspects of a project life cycle. Budgeting, estimating, submittals, RFIs, subcontractor negotiations, project planning, scheduling, buildout execution and final project close out. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position is a chance to partake and learn all phases of the construction process The candidate will have to be able to undertake a wide variety of responsibilities that include some of the following:
o Support Estimators, Project Managers and site Superintendents in the full life cycle of projects our construction projects.
o Attend the OAC and Subcontractor meetings and write weekly reports and job summaries.
o Create and update construction schedules.
o Write submittals, change orders, requests for information (RFI) and other critical project communications.
o This position will entail work onsite occasionally that includes meeting, assisting project superintendents, project deliveries, etc.
o Assist in the close-out process, including managing punch list, collecting and organizing all the required documentation, forms, transmittals, manuals, and certifications.
o Effective communication with clients.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Must take full ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Must be willing to fill in at any level where there's an immediate need.
- Must be tenacious and unrelenting.
- Must be brave enough to present ideas to improve methods and processes.
- Must be an over-communicator.
- Must be able to solve problems creatively.
- Must prefer a fast pace and relish the hustle.
- Must love construction!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Degree (prefer construction related field).
- 1+ year of construction related experience.
- Strong technical background in construction software - Bluebeam, MS Project, MS Office, RedTeam Software, Sigma Estimates, and more.
- Great communications skills - verbal & written.

- Salary Range $65,000 to $80,000 dependent upon experience.
